Our van drivers serve a vital role in the work of The Loft. An average day will include 3 or 4 collections or deliveries of much needed furniture, white goods and housewares. The driver will always be accompanied by a drivers mate. This role is suitable for someone who is fairly fit and active. Drivers need to be at least 26 due to insurance restrictions

We are always happy to welcome volunteers to our team at the Lounge. You may have catering experience or be a trained coffee barrista and be looking for somewhere to volunteer. You may have never worked in a cafe and be looking to gain some work experience. Or you may just be happy to come in and spend a couple of hours sitting down to chat with those customers who might simply need some company. We look forward to receiving your application.
We are looking for volunteers who are eager to put their computer skills to use by helping with the online sales of donated goods via the website and social media platforms. This role may include talking with customers who have ordered, wrapping smaller items for postage or liaising with the warehouse for deliveries to be made.
Client Admin support
We are looking for volunteers to help our clients fill in forms, make phone conversations, arrange appointments etc. Many of our clients are not fluent readers or struggle with forms of anxiety. This makes form filling or telephone appointment scheduling really stressful. You will sit down with clients at our office and help them with the necessary task. Training will be given for this role
Collecting tin distributor
This is a flexible role and is the perfect opportunity to fit in volunteering with Thanet Iceberg around your other commitments. We are looking for somone to join our team and visit with our local community groups, shops, businesses, indeed anywhere that will give our collection pots a new home and then to collect them when they are full.
The Lounge serves a very special purpose for us, here at Thanet Iceberg.
We are a convenient place for the workers and visitors on the local trading estate to come for their breaks or lunches. As well as this we have people who come to us for the company and a chat, a place of warmth, friendship and security. The Lounge also serves as a main point of contact for people who need the help of the organisation’s other services.
There is a lot of activity behind the scenes to keep Thanet Iceberg operating as a vital support service across Thanet . We couldn’t do everything that needs to be done without our tireless volunteers answering telephone enquiries, dealing with social media, documentating stock, filing and administration in support of our client facing team. If you have experience in an office or an eye for detail, you might be the person we are looking for.
Fundraising is crucial for us to reach our operating target each year. Our fundraising volunteers help us to boost donations for Thanet Iceberg through engaging with the public. Whether it is on the phones or helping a specific campaign, visiting shops and offices with collecting pots or being an ambassador to community groups and friends; if you enjoy working with peple and have a passion for our area, we would love you to volunteer with Thanet Iceberg.
